The licensed local team behind Plumbers In North Sydney
Who we are

The people behind
every North Sydney job

Plumbers In North Sydney is the local face of a licensed plumbing team that works the harbour side of the bridge. Here that mostly means terraces: no side access, party walls, steep blocks, and pipework that predates almost everyone reading this.

A licensed plumber for North Sydney, not a call centre.

When you call, you reach someone who does this work rather than an operator taking a message for whoever is free. That means no lead-swapping to the cheapest available van, no mystery invoices, and no vague promise that somebody will be out eventually.

Every job carries our NSW licence number, full insurance, and a fixed price you approve before anyone starts. If the honest answer is that the work can wait until business hours and save you the after-hours rate, that is what you will be told.

Licensed, insured & accountable.

Licensed & registered

We hold NSW Plumbing Licence 368473C and work to the Australian Standards on every job, gas and water alike. Unlicensed plumbing is illegal in NSW and voids your home insurance, so ask any plumber for their number before they start. Ours is on every quote.

Insured & to standard

Fully insured for public liability and workmanship, and a member of the Master Plumbers Association NSW. Every repair is done to code and backed by a lifetime workmanship warranty in writing.

Publicly reviewed

The Google reviews on this site belong to Dr Leak Plumbing, our sister plumbing brand. Same owners, same licensed crews, same vans. We would rather point you at real reviews under another name than invent new ones under this one.

Built by a plumber, run like it.

The business was founded in 2020 by a licensed plumber who had already spent more than a decade on Sydney jobs. What started as one van has grown into a team, and the standard has not moved: turn up when you say, quote before you start, and leave the site the way you found it.

That last one carries more weight over here. Working in a terrace means carrying gear through somebody's hallway across floorboards older than the country's federation. Drop sheets and care are not a nicety on this housing, they are the job.

“If I wouldn't be happy with the fix in my own home, it's not finished. That's the whole job.”

The plumbing we see across North Sydney.

Two features of this suburb decide most of what we do, and neither of them appears on a plumbing website anywhere: there is no way around the side of the house, and the ground falls away hard toward the water.

1
Terraces, and no side access

The land here was subdivided for terraces from the 1860s onwards. Party walls on both sides mean no path to the rear, so every tool, every hose and every replacement hot water unit comes through the front door and down the hallway.

2
Which rules out a lot of standard equipment

A trailer-mounted jetter cannot reach a rear courtyard it cannot get to. The compact gear that can has to be genuinely capable rather than merely small. Turning up without asking about access is how a one-visit job becomes three.

3
Excavation is often not an option at all

Not expensive: impossible. The drain frequently runs under original flooring or along a shared boundary, and no machine can reach it. That is why relining here is the default answer rather than the cheaper alternative.

4
Party walls carry water sideways

Shared masonry does not respect the title boundary. Damp appearing on your side regularly originates on theirs, or the reverse, which makes establishing where a failure actually was the difference between one insurer and two.

5
Fixtures that sit below the sewer

On the steep harbour blocks a basement, garage or lower bathroom can sit below the sewer main. Gravity cannot help, so those fixtures depend on a pump. When it fails, the lower room floods while everything above it behaves perfectly.

6
Pressure changes with elevation

Mains pressure falls as the street climbs and rises as it drops, so two houses on the same main a hundred metres apart genuinely differ. A pressure complaint here is worth measuring rather than diagnosing by ear.

How we work.

1
A licensed plumber answers, any hour

Ring at 2am and you get someone who can drive to you, not a service logging a message for the morning. On a genuine emergency the most useful thing usually happens in the first thirty seconds at a stop tap, and we talk you through it while the van is moving.

2
Access asked about before we quote

Terrace or freestanding, side path or not, how far down the block the work sits. On this housing that decides which machine comes and how long we book, and getting it wrong wastes your morning as much as ours.

3
One number, agreed before we start

You approve a figure before a tool comes out, and that figure is what you pay. Nothing meters by the hour, nothing is added because it turned out to be a Sunday, and nothing appears on the invoice that was not discussed.

4
Findings written down, not just told to you

Where a party wall, a shared drain or a neighbour is involved, we photograph what failed and where and put it in writing. It is what turns a disagreement next door into a decision.

Who operates this site

"Plumbers In North Sydney" is a marketing name used to advertise licensed plumbing services supplied by Dr Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 40 679 445 884), trading as Dr Energy Electrical & Plumbing, NSW Plumbing Licence 368473C. All plumbing work booked through this site is carried out under that licence.

The Google reviews shown on this site belong to Dr Leak Plumbing, our sister plumbing brand. Both brands are run by the same people and share the same licensed crews, so the reviews reflect the same team that will turn up at your address.
